qualifications to serve

The Church Board serves our church in the administration, budgeting and the creation of policy that helps us continue to serve our community and church with excellence. As you are considering your selections to go before the Nomination Committee, please keep in mind the qualifications to serve as outlined in our Local Church Constitution and the Nomination Policy.

An Excerpt From Our Local Church Constitution

2.3.1 QUALIFICATIONS:

The qualifications for service on the Board shall be determined and approved in accordance with the policy of this local church, as guided by such scriptural provisions as are cited in Acts 6:3, 1 Timothy 3:8-13, and Titus 1:5-9. The official Board shall be comprised of members who are of good report and sound judgment, examples to the congregation in matters of stewardship, church attendance, and spiritual maturity, and seeking constantly, as sanctified vessels, to be filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:4; Ephesians 5:18).

Our scriptural mandate for church leadership is of the utmost importance to us. For your convenience we have provided quick reference links for you help you take time to reflect on the qualifications to serve as outlined in scripture.

1. This person has received at minimum 3 selections for nomination.

2. This person is a tithing member.

3. This person is active in serving in the church.

4. This person is not related to any current sitting church board members or church staff.

With these board qualifications clearly outlined, please prayerfully consider your selections for nomination below.

selections for nomination

This year, we will be electing two board terms: one for a term of 3 years and the other for a term of 2 years. These selections for nomination will be collected from our membership and curated by our Nomination Committee. Church leadership and serving on a church board is a great responsibility that requires expertise, wisdom and excellence. Please prayerfully reflect on who you might select for consideration before the Nomination Committee.

This year, the available board positions are currently held by Al Spagnolo and Robbie McCrossan.

After 6 consecutive years of faithful service, Al Spagnolo will not be eligible for reelection. Our Local Church Constitution requires that all board members take a 1 year sabbatical from board leadership following 6 years of consecutive service. On behalf of our church membership, we want to extend our gratitude to Al and his wife Mary for their servant leadership and commitment to our church.

Please see this excerpt from our Local Church Constitution for reference:

2.3.4.1

The term of office of all lay members of the Board shall be for either one, two or three years, as determined by the local congregation. After a member has served for six consecutive years, the member will not be considered eligible to serve on the

Board for a period of one (1) year.

Please Note that Robbie McCrossan's name is eligible for reelection in this year's Annual General Meeting.
